Throughout his music life,CrownKing97 has gone by many names.
Starting with a rap group called "PeaceClan" then "M.C.Twist, then Crown Mulah.
Today he's simply known on the NorthCarolina rap World as "CrownKinG97"-the militant, conscious rapper from Raleigh-Durham, who demands we put our black fist up and Liberation to Hip-Hop!!
Inspired by militant, pro-black rappers like PublicEnemy, BrandNubians,KRS-ONE,X-Clan and ledgends like Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, IceCube, 2Pac, Scarface, Biggie Smalls,Wu-TangClan,UGK.

CrownKing started freestyling and writing rymes at the young age of ten.
Today, he's a talented rapper with numerous rap songs under his belt for which CrownKing categtorize as "conscious crank"music. Yet, before he emerged as a conscious rapper with a voice to be heard,CrownKing97 had to be shaped by the hard streets of Durham, N.C.

Also a visual artist,CrownKing's music and drawings tell stories of tough life on the streets-stories of being poor, of living in the hood, of the drug game and of brothers dying in the streets.
Yet in the very next verse of his music you'll hear chants about Africa, as CrownKing97 reminds us who we derived from,Kings and Queens. CrownKing97 is a soldier from a thug nation, a street rapper with real street stories which he's lived through and stayed sane enough to rap about. His lyrics are real and moving with beats that indeed bring the hype energy of The South,So people get ready for the God, King, Gangsta of Music!!!!!!
